Current account for individuals

Current Account: It is an account with no interests that allows the customer to do several traditional banking transactions such as: deposit and withdrawal. Moreover, through a current account, the customer can release checks to use them for payment or collection. However, the current account is not opened for the aims of savings or investment, but is rather used to facilitate business transactions only. This type is considered one the main accounts of liquidity.


Fees for opening a new account: $15 or IQD 15,000

Requirements to Open Current Account for Iraqi Citizens :
  • National ID or residence card, if the national card is not available.
  • 2 personal photos.
  • Civil Status ID + Iraqi Nationality.
  • Letter of Support/Approval from workplace + salary certificate.
  • Information card.
  • Passport.
Requirements to Open Current Account for Foreigners:
  • Copy of passport.
  • 2 personal photos.
  • Personal Identity Card.
  • Accommodation Document.
  • Copy of Residency Card.
  • Document of support from workplace.

Savings Account

Savings Account: is an account used by the customer to save his money and have a profit margin on the balance deposited in the account and allows him to move it at any time, i.e. to make withdrawals and/or deposits. This account is not subject to a fixed period, and it is one of the simplest types of bank accounts.


Requirements To Open Saving Account for Iraqi Citizens:
  • National ID or residence card if the national card is not available.
  • 2 personal photos.
  • Civil Status ID + Iraqi Nationality.
  • Letter of Support/Approval from workplace + Salary Certificate
  • Information card.
  • Passport.

Difference between Current Account and Saving Account:
